Abstract
This project sought to understand if preschool aged children can understand prosocial from education children’s television shows and apply the lessons to their own behavior. Prosocial lessons include honesty, inclusivity, waiting, or helping. Many shows attempt to teach prosocial lessons and many parents believe their children have learned prosocial messages from children’s television. However, current empirical research has not found evidence that children can learn or apply these lessons. The purpose of this research was to understand if these television shows are appropriate as educational content, and to see where more research is needed.
