Biography

Graduated as an economist from the Mexican National Autonomous University (UNAM). He pursued his Master’s studies in Ecological Economics and Environmental Management at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, where he also obtained his Doctorate in Environmental Sciences.

He is currently a full-time tenured researcher at UNAM. Member of the Mexican National Academy of Sciences and member of the National System of Researcher of the National Science and Technology Council (Mexico), level 2.
