Abstract
This is a critical review of the book Letters in Charcoal. Visualize living in a world surrounded by vowels and consonants but without understanding the meaning of the graphics; picture a girl receiving letters without the ability to understand their meaning, without grasping the sender's message, and creating narratives and expectations from them. This review analyzes the author, illustrator, and context.
