Peer Review

All submissions are initially assessed by a Managing Editor, who decides whether or not the article fits the scope of the journal and is suitable for peer review. Submissions considered suitable are assigned to an independent expert, selected from a pool of UArizona graduate students, who assesses the article for clarity, validity, and sound methodology.

The review period is expected to take around three weeks. Reviewers are asked to provide formative feedback, even if an article is not deemed suitable for publication in the journal.

Based on the reviewer decisions, articles will either be accepted or rejected for publication. If accepted, the Managing Editor(s) assigns each article at least one peer editor, who provide two rounds of feedback and suggested edits to the author. This process takes about six weeks. Final publication will take place in the spring or early summer.
