Abstract
The goals of the new Arizona Rules of Criminal Procedure are examined and a preliminary evaluation is made of the extent to which these goals have been achieved. Close scrutiny is made of the procedures set up by the new rules for pretrial release of the accused, discovery, plea bargaining, and procedures for probation revocation.
