Public Interest Privilege: From Crown Privilege to FOIA

Abstract

The public interest privilege, whereby the government may withhold information in the public interest, seemingly conflicts with statutory requirements for full disclosure. The author examines this conflict and the manner in which recent court decisions have dealt with it.
