Indecency on the Cable: Can It be Regulated?

Abstract

This Article explores whether state and local governments may regulate the presentation on cable television of sexually explicit material; or whether such transmissions are protected by the first amendment. The author concludes that regulation which precisely defines indecency, tailored to the protection of children and privacy in the home, will withstand constitutional challenge.
