Building a Better Mousetrap: Reconstructing Federal Entrapment Theory from Sorrells to Mathews

Abstract

This article examines the development of entrapment in the United States Supreme Court. The article traces the Court's retreat from a judicially administered entrapment rule in favor of a jury determination in Mathews v. United States. It suggests alternatives for theoretical growth and restored judicial control of courtroom process.
