The "Custom of Vetting" as a Substitute for Peer Review

Abstract

Professor Austin examines the new custom of vetting. He argues that vetting is not a reasonable imitation of peer review and undermines legal scholarship; it can subvert credibility, invite self-serving manipulation and be counterproductive to the development of young writers.
