Abstract

Bryan Schmidt reviews Penumbra Theatre of St. Paul's production of Donja L. Love's Sugar in Our Wounds. The production dates were February 23 - March 19, 2023. The director was Sarah Bellamy who is also President of Penumbra Theatre. In this review, Schmidt examines the production's emphasis on visually and aesthetically embracing the major themes of queer love, familial bonds, and racial violence.
