Representing Prison Inmates: A Primer on an Emerging Dimension of Poverty Law Practice

Abstract

Although basically an examination of Arizona post-conviction procedures, this article can well serve as a model in other jurisdictions for lawyers and law students participating in inmate legal assistance programs. The authors discuss the remedies of state habeas corpus, delayed appeal, motion for new trial on basis of newly discovered evidence, and the use of civil rule 60(c) as a motion to vacate sentence or judgment in criminal proceedings.
