An Issuing Bank's Duty of Payment under an Irrevocable Letter of Credit: Asociacion de Azucareros de Guatemala v. United States National Bank of Oregon

Abstract

In a recent decision, the Ninth Circuit misconstrued and misapplied a long-settled principle of tne law of irrevocable letters of credit. This comment criticizes that decision and examines the issuing bank's duty of payment under an irrevocable letter of credit.
