Abstract
The constitutionality of state durational residency requirements for voting has recently been challenged in a series of federal district court cases. The authors review these cases, examine the Supreme Court's decision on the Voting Rights Act Amendments of 1970 in United States v. Arizona and conclude that durational requirements as presently enforced are unconstitutional infringements on the franchise.
