Federal Funds for Public Interest Law: Plausibility, Politics and Past History

Abstract

The demand for public interest advocacy will soon exhaust existing private sources of funds. The writer examines the problems inherent in looking to the federal government for funds, in light of the development of the OEO Legal Services program and the unsuccessful attempts to insulate that program from political interference.
