Title VII: A Remedy for Discrimination against Women Prisoners

Abstract

The Equal Employment Opportunity Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, may provide a means of ensuring that female prisoners can obtain equal employment and rehabilitative opportunities. The writer reviews the applicable provisions of the Act and concludes that Title VII may, in fact, provide an appropriate remedy.
