The right of individuals to attend meetings of governmental bodies and to view governmental documents is being reexamined by legislatures, courts, and the public. Reviewing Arizona's public access statutes, the writer concludes that the right is unnecessarily limited and suggests specific statutory changes, including a model public records act.
