Abstract
Arizona has combined the writs of certiorari, mandamus, and prohibition into a single special action. This Note examines the evolution of special actions and their contemporary use. Concluding that special actions serve a valuable function in Arizona. The Note suggests that clarification rather than massive reform would best serve future special action practice.
